Alpine Lakes Lodge — Cabins and RV

Farm Animals & Wildlife at Alpine Lakes Lodge

Meet our 5 friendly sheep, 2 gentle alpacas, 4 beautiful horses, and the wild elk that visit our 54-acre property. Visiting the animals is one of the most loved activities at the lodge — especially for families with kids.

Meet Our Animals

Our farm animals and visiting wildlife add a special dimension to every stay. Here are the friendly faces you'll meet during your visit.

Sheep (5)

Our 5 sheep are friendly and love to graze in the meadows around the property. Kids enjoy watching them and learning about these gentle animals. They're social and curious, often coming closer when visitors approach calmly.

Alpacas (2)

Our 2 alpacas are gentle, curious, and love attention. They're known for their soft wool and friendly personalities. Kids especially enjoy watching them and learning about these unique animals. Alpacas are social creatures and often approach visitors on their own terms.

Horses (4)

Our 4 horses are a beautiful part of the Alpine Lakes Lodge landscape. These gentle animals are accustomed to visitors and enjoy calm interactions. Watch them graze in the meadows, visit them at their paddock, and introduce your kids to these magnificent creatures in a relaxed, natural setting.

Wild Elk

The elk that visit our property are a highlight for many guests. These wild visitors regularly roam through the meadows and around the lakes, especially during dawn and dusk. It's not unusual to see them from your cabin porch or while walking the trails. A magical moment for nature lovers.

A Family-Favorite Activity

Visiting the farm animals is consistently one of the most popular activities at Alpine Lakes Lodge, especially for families with young children. There's something special about seeing kids interact with animals in a natural, low-pressure setting — no crowded petting zoo, no admission fees, just genuine moments.

Many families tell us that meeting the sheep, alpacas, and horses was the highlight of their trip. Combine it with a morning fishing trip, an afternoon kayak ride, and an evening by the fire, and you've got a day that kids will talk about for years.

Animal Interaction Guidelines

To keep our animals happy and our guests safe, we ask everyone to follow a few simple guidelines.

Do not chase, corner, or startle any animal
