Easton, WA Hotels and Lodging: Where to Stay in Town, Exit by Exit

Search "Easton WA hotels" and you'll get a tidy list of a dozen properties. Open any of them and check the address: most are in Cle Elum, Snoqualmie Pass, or Ellensburg, between 15 minutes and an hour away. One or two will be in Easton, Maryland.

That isn't the booking sites being dishonest. It's them solving a problem — there is no chain hotel in Easton, so they widen the radius until the page has results on it. The useful version of this answer is the one nobody publishes: what actually exists in Easton, where each thing sits on the interstate, and which of it is open in February.

We run one of the properties on this list, so read our own entry with that in mind. We've been specific below about what we don't have.

First, the town itself

Easton is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Kittitas County, in the Yakima River valley east of Snoqualmie Pass. The 2020 census counted 407 people.

That number explains the lodging situation better than anything else on this page. The entire commercial district is one gas station with a small grocery selection and a restaurant. There is no hotel, no motel chain, no grocery store, and no stoplight. Cle Elum, about 15 minutes east, is the nearest town with full services.

What Easton has instead is land, water, and freeway access — which is why the lodging here is cabins, RV sites, and campgrounds rather than rooms with a front desk.

Easton, exit by exit

"Easton, WA 98925" covers roughly ten miles of I-90, and the four exits are not interchangeable. This trips up more arrivals than anything else.

| Exit | What's there | |------|--------------| | 62 | Kachess Lake Road — Kachess Campground is 5.5 miles up it | | 63 | Cabin Creek Road — our property is 1.5 miles off the interstate | | 70 | Lake Easton State Park, half a mile from the off-ramp | | 71 | Easton proper — the gas station, the fire station, the rail-trail crossing |

If you're booking a place in Easton, get the exit number from the property before you drive, not from a map pin. Between Exit 62 and Exit 71 there's a good fifteen minutes of driving, and no reason to discover that at 9 p.m.

What you can actually book in Easton

Cabins, tiny homes, and a 14-person lodge

That's us — 3000 U-Fish Rd at Exit 63, a mile and a half off I-90 on 54 private acres with four private lakes. Cabins sleep 2 to 6, tiny homes sleep up to 7 with a full kitchen and a full bathroom, and the log lodge sleeps 14. There are also 22 RV sites with 30/50-amp electric and water, and tent sites. Open all twelve months.

What we don't have: a front desk, a restaurant, room service, or a pool. Cabins 1-3 have no shower inside, and bedding and linens cost extra. If you want a hotel experience, we're the wrong building.

A roadside motel and a small B&B

Easton does have two conventional rooms-for-rent operations, both small, independent, and without much web presence — which is exactly why the booking sites skip them.

The Easton Motel and Country Store is listed in local directories at 1741 Railroad St, (509) 656-2248, and has reportedly been operating for about forty years. The Waterspring Inn is listed at 4193 E Sparks Rd, (509) 674-8156, with two bed-and-breakfast rooms with private baths plus a four-bedroom cottage with a full kitchen and laundry.

Neither runs a bookable website, so these details come from directory listings rather than from the businesses themselves. Call before you count on either one, and ask about current rates — we're not going to publish numbers for someone else's rooms.

Glamping, lodge rooms, and horse corrals

Silver Ridge Ranch on Silver Ridge Ranch Road is the other private property in town offering a range of lodging shapes. Their site advertises RV sites, tent sites, a newly renovated rustic lodge rental, and glamping options including yurts, and it's explicitly equestrian-friendly — personal horse corrals at sites, with riding straight off the property. They reference year-round camping and winter activities including snowmobile rentals.

Worth knowing, because they have two things we don't: yurts, and somewhere to put your horse. We're hard-sided glamping only, and we don't board horses.

The big RV park next to the state park

Lake Easton RV Resort at 581 Lake Easton Rd, run by Sunrise Resorts, sits beside the state park near Exit 70. It's the largest RV operation in town — Good Sam lists 49 full-hookup and 68 partial sites with a 38-foot maximum rig length — and it has a pool, a hot tub, and a recreation hall, none of which we have. Their own site also advertises A-frame cabin rentals, so it isn't RV-only. It takes direct reservations at (509) 656-2255; a Sunrise Camp Club membership is an option, not a requirement.

The honest tradeoff: the resort sits adjacent to the freeway, and I-90 through here is a truck route that doesn't go quiet at night. We're a mile and a half off the interstate, which is the biggest single difference between the two properties.

The state park campground — but no cabins

Lake Easton State Park at Exit 70 is 697 acres with campsites ranging from full-hookup to no-hookup, and some sites take 60-foot rigs — the most generous length limit in the area.

Two things to know. First, State Parks lists no roofed accommodation at this park: no cabins, no yurts, no platform tents. If you don't bring your own shelter, it isn't an option. Second, the campground is closed November 1 through May 1. Off-season overnight use is limited to the day-use and boat-launch parking areas, which is dry parking, not camping.

A Forest Service campground up Exit 62

Kachess Campground is 5.5 miles up Kachess Lake Road from Exit 62, on the forested northwest shore of Kachess Lake in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. It's a big one — around 150 sites across 92 acres, with 106 reservable single-family sites and a group site, the rest first-come, first-served. Picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, drinking water, a boat launch, a swimming area, and Pacific Crest Trail access nearby.

No hookups, and it runs roughly late spring through early fall depending on snow. Reserve through Recreation.gov.

Vacation rentals

There's a modest pool of privately owned cabins and houses in and around Easton on Airbnb and Vrbo. Inventory is small and turns over, so it's worth checking, but two cautions apply out here: confirm whether the road to the unit is plowed in winter, and confirm the actual exit number. A listing titled "Easton cabin" can be twenty minutes up a Forest Service road.

What's open in winter

This is the question that separates Easton lodging from Easton lodging, and it's why the list above collapses by half after Halloween.

| Where | Winter | |-------|--------| | Alpine Lakes Lodge (Exit 63) | Open year-round, every category | | Silver Ridge Ranch | Advertises year-round camping and winter activities | | Lake Easton RV Resort (Exit 70) | Listed year-round with a June-September peak; call to confirm | | Easton Motel / Waterspring Inn | Call — neither publishes a season | | Lake Easton State Park campground | Closed November 1 - May 1 | | Kachess Campground (Exit 62) | Closed — roughly late spring to early fall only |

The state park does stay useful in winter as a Sno-Park from December 1 through March 31 — just not as a place to sleep.

If you want a real hotel, here's the nearest

No shame in wanting a front desk and a breakfast buffet. You have two directions.

East, about 15 minutes, to Cle Elum — the deepest lodging market near the pass. The Best Western Snowcap Lodge at 809 W Davis St is the nearest chain hotel, with an indoor pool and free breakfast. Stewart Lodge has 33 cabin-styled rooms at 805 West 1st St. The Aster Inn at 521 East 1st St is a long-running family-run inn. The Iron Horse Inn at 526 Marie Ave in South Cle Elum is a bed and breakfast where several rooms are refurbished Milwaukee Road railcars. And Suncadia at 3600 Suncadia Trail is the full destination resort — 6,400 acres, golf, spa. Staying out that way? Our guide to things to do in Cle Elum covers the town itself.

West, about 20 minutes, to the summit — the Summit Inn is the conventional hotel at Snoqualmie Pass, and the pass-area condos and vacation rentals are the largest pool of beds up there. Our Snoqualmie Pass lodging guide breaks down the whole corridor, including the Snoqualmie Pass versus Snoqualmie mix-up that catches people every winter.

Matching the trip to the lodging

  • You want a hotel room: Cle Elum, 15 minutes east. Easton doesn't have one.
  • Group of 8 to 14 under one roof: a lodge or a large vacation rental. No room-based property in this valley does this well.
  • Big rig, 40-plus feet: Lake Easton State Park in season — it has the most generous length limit. Call ahead everywhere else.
  • RV in winter: the options are us and, per their listings, Lake Easton RV Resort. The campgrounds are shut.
  • Tent, on a budget: Kachess or the state park in summer; tent sites here when those are closed.
  • Traveling with a horse: Silver Ridge Ranch.
  • You want a yurt: also Silver Ridge Ranch. We don't have one and won't pretend otherwise.
  • Fishing without a license or a state opener: our four lakes are private, which is the one thing on this page nobody else in town offers.

Where we fit, honestly

We're not a hotel and we're not trying to be. What we are is 54 private acres at Exit 63 with four private lakes, free kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, and paddle boats in the warm months, fishing with no Washington license required because the water is private, and sheep, alpacas, and horses living on the property. Every unit is hard-sided and heated — cabins, tiny homes, a 14-person lodge, RV sites, and tent sites — and we're open all twelve months, which half of this page is not.

If you want to walk to a lift in ski boots, stay at the summit. If you want a spa, book Suncadia. If you want a quiet mile and a half off the interstate with water you can fish without a license, that's us.

Not sure which unit fits your group? Get in touch or call 425-622-2790 — and if the right answer is somewhere else on this page, we'll tell you that instead. There's also the full list of things to do near Easton once you've picked a bed.
